yin and yang

yang is doing
there is a profound relationship between those two at a deep level
and/but there is a whole web of associations with each of them, spiraling out through our conceptual scaffolding. yin is female, yang male. yin is cold, yang hot. yin is contraction, yang expansion. yin invites in, yang pushes out.
yin / yang itself is a duality, the original duality. the beginning of the separation of qi into the ten thousand things.
